Mark Wijman is a visitor attractions consultant and interim manager. He is currently an Executive Director at AEDP and divides his time between Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
Until recently he was a Director with Lan Kwai Fong Group in Hong Kong. With LKF he worked on a variety of visitor attraction projects in Hong Kong, Macau, China, Vietnam the United States and Australia under the leadership of Allan Zeman.
Prior to LKF he served as an Associate Director With AECOM, his assignments were in the fields of market research, financial modelling, economic planning, economic feasibility studies, data interpretation and economic reasoning, as well as more general management consulting with a focus on strategic, marketing, human resources and operational requirements and challenges. His Client base included high profile and confidential theme park and mixed-use projects in the TIER I and II Chinese cities as well as Hong Kong SAR and South Korea.
As an interim and management consultant under Vineland Parters he focused on pre-opening and management assignments for large visitor attractions such as Global Star Carnival in Hong Kong, Skånes Zoo in Sweden, Asia Park in Vietnam and Sochi Park in Russia.
Before founding Vineland Partners he served as Project Manager and Head of Park Operations for the 2012 World Horticultural Expo in The Netherlands, where he ultimately was responsible for the successful development, human resources and operations of all hospitality departments.
Earlier in his career, Mark served as Assistant General Manager and F&B Manager of Kongeparken in Norway. Here he was instrumental in bringing the park to a new level while managing the in-park revenues including, retail, games and F&B. In the past he also toured with Cirque du Soleil, worked at Disneyland Paris and Warner Bros. Movie World in Germany.
Mark served as a member of IAAPA's Food and Beverage Committee for 5 years and is a frequent speaker at industry events and is a Certified Attraction Executive.
Mark has contributed research and articles to many industry publications including Funworld, ParkWorld and Interpark. He was a guest lecturer at the NHTV University of Breda and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University on the subject of developing theme parks attractions, as well as with the Saxion School of Management on the subject of hospitality management.
